The bulls get a legit all-star to pair with giddy who is actually an upgrade defensively over Vucevic. All three players they get back will be on expiring deals next year in case they don’t work out. Most importantly, the bulls get something back for 4 expiring contracts this year.

The Knicks need depth at guard, depth at forward, and a way out of cap space hell. This trade will free up more than 63 million in cap space, plus the expiring for Mitch Robinson. This lets them resign Mitch and have real cap flexibility moving forward. As for this year, Brunson,Dosunmu,Bridges,OG,Mitch with White,Shamet,Hart,Huerter,Vucevic in rotation and Kolek,Clarkson,McCullar,Diawara,Hukporti as deep depth.
