Yup, my first trade in months is this absolute mindbreaker.

But tbh, it makes a ton of sense for both teams. I am a huge Justin Champagnie believer. I think hes an awesome rebounder, a good defender, and I believe in the shot. That being said:

Why Wizards trade this guy away: They dont have room. Justin can play 2-4, but is best suited for the 3. Well, the Wizards have kispert, bilal, tre johnson, cam whitmore, kyshawn george and will riley as guys they have ample reason to put ahead of Justin Champagnie in terms of development and care. Especially the trio of kyshawn, tre johnson, and bilal(not to mention Sarr who has played a ton of 4) means that Champagnie will struggle to find minutes on the wizards even when healthy. (Also khris middleton and cj mccolum are taking minutes for now).

So bring him to the knicks who always need wings,get your protected first(aka 2 early second rounders) back for a guy who isn't really part of the long term plan and also get a project in pacome.
