Trade Proposal: Knicks Acquire Cam Whitmore from the Rockets
Knicks Receive: • Cam Whitmore
Rockets Receive: • Pacome Dadiet • Jericho Sims • Washington’s 1st-Round Pick (Protected) • Three Second-Round Picks
Why the Knicks Do This:
The Knicks make a significant move to add Cam Whitmore, an explosive young wing with high upside. Whitmore’s ability to score in transition, attack the rim, and defend multiple positions makes him an excellent fit in Tom Thibodeau’s system. By giving up Pacome Dadiet, Jericho Sims, and draft capital—including Washington’s protected first—they maintain their core while adding a potential long-term starter at small forward. This trade gives New York a dynamic young piece to develop alongside their current roster while still preserving assets for future moves.
Knicks New Depth Chart: • Starters: Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, Karl-Anthony Towns • Bench: Cam Payne, Miles McBride, Cam Whitmore, Precious Achiuwa, Mitchell Robinson
Why the Rockets Do This:
Houston cashes in on Whitmore’s value, using him to add a future protected first-round pick from Washington, which could convey into a valuable asset if it doesn’t go to the Wizards in 2026. Pacome Dadiet provides another young, high-upside wing to develop, while Jericho Sims gives them additional frontcourt depth behind Alperen Şengün. The additional second-round picks give the Rockets more trade flexibility for future deals. With a crowded rotation at the wing, this move allows Houston to consolidate assets while still building toward long-term success.
