I'll start this out by saying I'm fully copping out by not including picks here because in a 4 team trade like this, it's really hard to figure out all the moving pieces. I will say that the Knicks would like have to part with several 2nd round picks in addition to some pick swaps, with the Jazz receiving one of those. The Hornets would also be receiving some compensation due to them taking on more salary (in addition to whatever is happening to the still unofficial KAT trade) but since the Knicks are clearing $5 million in cap space, it might help that since theoretically, they wouldn't have to send as much to the Hornets for that trade and could just expand it. Team by team rationale below:

Knicks: I'll start with the Knicks. This would be a huge huge win for them (and is part of why it's so unlikely, with Mitch's value being pretty low right now, I don't see an amazing return unless the FO gets creative. To their credit, they've pulled off some impressive moves so who knows). The Knicks get their backup center (or perhaps starting if KAT moves to the 4) who's a rim protector and is young. He's a decent if not spectacular scorer, but has room to grow and has already shown the defensive chops that Thibs would want. They also get Cody Martin, who could slot into the 3/4 space. He's had a lot of trouble with injuries but could be a solid pickup as a good sized wing who can play solid D. He of course has to stay healthy which is why he's not a huge cost and makes more sense as a player to help make the numbers work. The real prize here is Kessler for the Knicks.

Jazz: The Jazz do this for draft compensation (again probably 1-2 pick swaps from the Knicks and some seconds) and they get 2 prospects in Tre Mann and recent 1st round draft pick Dadiet. Vincent is also a solid veteran and none of these players are on expensive long term contracts so they'd allow Danny Ainge some flexibility in future deals.

Lakers: The Lakers get Mitch and while he won't be available for quite some time, AD has been fairly vocal about not wanting to play the 5 full time. Mitch would allow them to do that and they're not sacrificing any players that would see a ton of playing time. Hood-Schifino has barely seen the floor and while Vincent is a solid backup PG, that's not an area of need for them right now. The big question is if they really want to make a trade for a center, which is definitely debatable. I still think they need to add more shooting so someone like Clarkson in this trade may be a better return for them although I don't see where he slots into their starting lineup.

Hornets: The Hornets are already working with the Knicks on the KAT trade so why not include them on this one! They don't lose any hugely impactful players as Tre Mann likely wasn't going to play a huge role and Martin has been injured for several seasons now. They get Clarkson instead who's a solid veteran who can shoot, which this team needs. They also get Hood-Schifino who could turn into a solid 3 and D wing. They'd also get some second rounders for helping to facilitate this as well.
