    Why they do this
    Magic

    • They try to stay competitive this year. Moving on from Fournier and Gordon may be the easiest way to do this

    • If they can resign Oladipo after the season (not unlikely) rotation in 2021-22 season could be: Fultz, LaVine, Oladipo, Isaac, Vucevic --- Anthony, Ross, Ennis, Okeke, Birch

    • Easily fit into Steve Clifford's defensive coaching style

    Houston

    • Add a more perimeter-centric player on a cheaper contract.

    • Still an expiring contract, so they free up just as much cap after the season

    Bulls

    • Try to save a bit of cash long term, move in direction of younger core.

    • Bamba could slot immediately into starting rotation, and give them the option to sign him at the end of the season

    • Gordon is on a declining contract (~$16 mil next season), so they'll have more cash to spend in the offseason on role players
