Tell me what you think in the comments,
Why Orlando says yes: This feels like Orlando's MO the last few trade deadlines. Acquire young players that have been all but counted out, and try to acquire draft capital. Reddish and Wiseman have been labeled as "Busts" by a large portion of NBA fans, the Magic take these players on with the hopes that a new landing spot changes their fortunes. Derrick Rose is most likely a buy-out candidate, but a contract taken on from the Knicks who get away from the money a year early.
Why Golden State says yes: Admittedly a smaller portion of this trade, I think Bamba fits The Warriors style of play better, defensive minded center who can run and stretch the floor.
Why NY Knicks say yes: Possibly the hardest angle to sell, but if you look at it unobjectively I think it makes sense. 1) Get out of Rose's contract a year early, 15 Million for a 35 year old oft-injured PG doesn't sound appealing in 2024 for the Knicks. 2) Reddish is completely out of the rotation. 3) Terrence Ross is a sniper who can create his own shot and is on a reasonable 1-year deal. Hampton is burried behind 3 talented point guards in Orlando (Fultz, Anthony, Suggs). Hampton has requested stints in the G-league where he has balled out. Hampton gives NY some more guard depth and would be a complimentary piece to Quickly with the 2nd team.
