Trade 1

Davis Bertans and the 10th overall pick for Kelly Olynyk, Talen Horton-Tucker, and the 16th pick

The Jazz use some of their role players to move up into the lottery for a second crack at the top players in this draft class. They could then take two lottery talents at 9 and 10, or try and package those two together to move even further up. Regardless, they would add high-end young talent to a team that is in no rush to win right away.

The Mavs however, are in a rush to start winning. So they use their 10th pick to add a couple immediate contributors to the rotation by bringing Olynyk back to Dallas (he was a Mav for about 5 seconds before getting traded on draft night), and getting THT. Olynyk brings size, rebounding, shooting, and toughness to the frontcourt, and THT brings defense and some playmaking. They also keep a pick in the draft to take a shot on a young talent (Leonard Miller please).

Trade 2

Tim Hardaway Jr, Christian wood (S&T), and a 2027 1st for Jarrett Allen and Cedi Osman

The Mavs need a 5 in the worst way. Powell plays hard and is a good PnR duo with Luka, but he offers no rim protection and very limited rebounding. Jarrett Allen is a great rim protector, can also run PnR with Luka, and brings good rebounding to the 5 as well. He is also only 25 and can grow with Doncic.

The Cavs on the other hand need shooting desperately. They were trying to find an answer for their 3 position all year who could space the floor, and the Allen-Mobley combo just didn't bring enough spacing in the post-season to work. So here they add two dynamic shooters in THJ and Wood who would really help open up the offense for Garland Mitchell and Mobley. They also get a future first which could be big for them since they have very limited draft assets right now.

Draft: Select Leonard Miller with the 16th Overall pick

  • Resign Dwight Powell for a 1 year veterans minimum at 2.1 million dollars
