Mavs: Porzingis, Kennard ($41 million expiring), Krejci, 2026 1st SAS/CLE/MIN/UTA
Hawks: Gafford, Klay, Naji, Martin
Mavs take on $41 million in expiring money in Porzingis, and Kennard, a flyer on one of the best shooters in the league currently in Krejci, and a low value first. A huge reason they make this deal with Atlanta, is the Hawks have plenty of cap space already. Which means the Mavs can not only clear up space and money next year, but this year too. This allows them to sign Cisse and Nembhard, both of whom have actually looked very promising to start their young careers, to standard two year deals.
Hawks get basically everything they want, another viable center, a great wing defender/creator, and a light up shooter, and it costs them almost nothing to get this deal done. The reason they're giving up so little, is the fact they take on Caleb Martin's contract in this.
I think both teams benefit from this, but I could see the Mavs demanding more, probably one future Hawks picks, maybe with protections. Let me know what you think!
