Assuming the trade on deadline day still makes sense, especially for Dallas/Pistons/Hawks
WHY BULLS DO IT:
Next year team:
Giddey, Coby, Buzelis, Tobias, KP
Tyus, Ayo, Okoro, Smith, MLE (Mitch Rob or Rob Williams)
Noa, Phillips, minimum x2, 1RP (defensive C)
Use their pick to dump Williams, but still have a first, although a bad one. The team on paper is pretty interesting, of course can't win anything but it doesn't exist a trade that would make them contender.
No luxury, assuming Coby makes 30m, Tobias and KP the same money and Ayo 15m. Pretty realistic I think.
WHY PISTONS DO IT:
Cade, Duncan, Ausar, AD, Duren
DLO, Green, Holland, Reed, Stewart
I understand AD is injury prone, but It's their year they HAVE to try. 2026 pick is bad, 2028 is not that far, you have to give up something. Not so huge risk, high reward trade.
WHY ATLANTA DO IT:
New team:
Trae, Dyson, NAW, JJ, Okongwu
Krejci, Max, Naji, Risacher, Gafford
No luxury of course, even next year.
They give up the Pelicans pick, but get a brand new bench, now they are deeeeeep. And 3 first rounders, 2 this year.
WHY DALLAS DO IT:
Give up a star AND good pieces AND get back one of the worst contracts in the league for a projected top 5 pick (of course if now Pelicans win 20 straight games I'm not doing it anymore)
WHY WIZARDS DO IT:
For pick 30 they take a flyer on Ivey, pretty worth it in my opinion.
