Mavs turn their roster from a shit defensive team to a defensive master class without sacrifice on offense. And just imagine THE SIZE: Luka/Kai/Brooks/PJ/Lively/Isaac/Gafford/DJJ/Exum/Hardy/Green/OMAX(?)

Brooks is a great defender and an energy guy the mavs really really could use. This season, he is a better 3p shooter than THJ (but THJ has been in a slump to be fair and will break out of it), but a much better defender. He is also a menace and brings energy and an edge that the mavs miss . I believe he would bring to the Mavs what Pat Bev brings to the Bucks. That spirit and pride in being an absolute whacko and talk shit to EVERYONE. Like say shit to Lebron James, but have Luka and Kyrie back him up with play in the game so he doesnt just get destroyed. A massive difference maker. Giving up Maxi and Powell sucks for the bench, but at some point, risks like this have to be taken (we gave up DFS but got Kyrie and our chemistry is still very much on point).

Isaac is a one of kind defender with issues of availability, but Maxi is not much better and is currently the anchor on D even with his pinky toe. Magic need shooting, or put in a better way - spacing. Even with THJ in a slump, teams guard him very tightly and don't just leave him alone.

If PJ could just solidify himself as a bonafide 3rd option for this team with solid shooting and about 18ppg... CONTENDERS!!
