Their moves this season have been incredible and almost all of them have worked. It’s time we talk about them as one of the best FOs in the NBA

Off-season moves

• sign Dante exam to a small contract

What seemed like a minor move that would never amount to anything turned into a great contract for a quality guard. Very underrated move

• Get DJJ for a small contract

Getting a starter for like 6M? DJJ has been incredible as a defender and play finisher for the mavs

• Seth Curry signing

First miss, but we didn’t sign him for very much and were able to trade him as a throw in later

• Grant Williams signing

Solid idea and I really thought he’d be good but again he just didn’t end up being good for us, traded him later while he still had value tho

• Drafting Lively

Absolutely the perfect pick. Arguably the bpa even now, and an incredible fit with luka. 74% from the field is insane. He’s a core piece for us already, getting that outside the top 10 is a steal

• Drafting Omax

Love Omar but he hasn’t done much this year, he’s our project and we will have to see how he does

• Getting off Bertans to get a guy we wanted

Obvious W cap flexibility and we barely even moved back

Out of only signing small contract guys and drafting 2 players, we got 2 starters, a quality bench player, a project, and a ton of trade assets

and then the even better trade deadline

• Trade for PJ

Not only did we get off of a bunch of contracts like Seth curry and grant williams that we were not using/didn’t really need, we acquired a perfect fit next to luka. We got a hyper versatile forward who can guard 1-4 on defense and play many different roles on offense. He’s been incredible in the playoffs and been an X factor for us

• Trade for Gafford

And we got off another contract, Richaun Holmes! it only took a first and a bad contract to get a young realky good lob threat and rim protector who’s been awesome next to luka

Only giving two firsts and contracts of players that we weren’t using, we got two starters and amazing fits for our core that have led us to potentially our first conference finals in over a decade
