Mavs move AD, but take back George's contract

SUCCESS

Paul George with the 76ers has been very disappointing, and while they would love to move off his contract...nobody wants him. When you factor in the fact that he's now dealing with a MASSIVE 25 game suspension, and when you look at Joel putting up MVP numbers again, the 76ers need a change desperately. This deal is a classic case of which contract is worse. Say what you want about AD, but when he is on the court, your floor and ceiling are raised drastically. You really can't say the same about George, and he's only slightly more reliable in terms of health than AD. I love this idea of a swap because both teams desperately want out of their contracts. The Mavs, however, want to be good next year, and taking on George's contract, doesn't exactly ensure a championship next year, so to compensate the Mavs "not getting better," they get a great young big man in Bona, and a pick that's worth drooling over, in an unprotected 2028 Clippers first.

I know this is a lot for AD, but I look at it like you're getting Bona and mid value first for AD, and you're getting a mid value first to take on George's contract, and the Mavs could negotiate those two firsts into this one Clippers pick.

Quick rebuttal to this trade. In this trade you do one of the things the Mavs defintely don't want to do right now, which is add to the existing roster. The Mavs would love to somehow open up two roster spots to sign Nembhard and Cisse, which they should, I love them both. This trade makes that even harder to do, so just something I wanted to add.

Let me know who says no!
