I don't think the Mavs will ever do anything remotely like this, but this is what I'd do as the Mavs GM.
Mavs/Nets pre-draft trade Mavs receive DFS and #21 & #22 picks Nets receive Kleber and #10 pick
Draft Olivier-Maxence Prosper and draft Jett Howard-(if available) or 1. Brice Sensabaugh 2. Kobe Bufkin 3. Noah Clowney 4. Marcus Sasser
Mavs/Lakers Kyrie S&T Mavs receive D-Lo (signs 3 years for $55.5M, $18.5M/year) & 2029 unprotected 1st LA receives Kyrie (signs 4 years for $177.2M)
Mavs/Hornets trade bad contracts for better fits Mavs receive Terry Rozier and Nick Richards Hornets receive THJ, Davis Bertans, Javale McGee, & a 2025 2nd
Mavs sign Naz Reid for 4 years $65.2M ($16.3M/year)
Sign Danuel House for 3 years for $20.7M ($6.9M/year) using NTP-MLE
If the Nets accept this I'd take it. I think this could possibly end up the #21 & #51 picks with DFS, either way OMP is the priority draftee in round 1. He would be perfect to learn from DFS and replace him at the end of DFS's contract. I'm getting the Kyrie/D-Lo S&T done ASAP when free agency starts. I do not trust Kyrie to be healthy and with the team all year, and the Mavs need more help on defense currently and they need a starting caliber center in the worst way. Kyrie is a liability just like Luka on the perimeter, not that D-Lo is an upgrade, but Danuel House (or maybe Tyus Jones) is and with him, Bullock, Green, DFS, OMP, and a legitimate shot blocking presence that would be a huge defensive upgrade across the team without losing much on offense in the aggregate. I also think that Naz Reid's game will fit with Luka really well. The Kyrie S&T and the Hornets swap allows just enough room for them to sign that center and get defensive help on the perimeter.
