Hornets: Steph, PJ Washington, Gafford, Naji, Seth Curry
Warriors: Lamelo, Bridges, Lavert, Holland, Mia 2027 1st, Hornets 2030 1st Swap Best
Mavs: Coby White, Josh Green (welcome home...ugh), Salaun, Mcneeley, Mavs Own 2027 1st Back
Pistons: Draymond, Gary Payton II
Die hard Mavs fan making this, and saying, I've always loved the Hornets, super fun team, and I just want them to go for it all, and now is the time. Imagine this Hornets team, except you plug Steph into Lamelo's shoes, and PJ into Bridges'...That's pretty mean it, not even mentioning the fact that you add a legit big in Gafford, and a bench maestro in Naji Marshall. I think this Hornets roster is no doubt top 3 in the East, and my opinion, clearly number 1.
Now the Warriors, at first glance, may look like they're not getting that much in return, but I think this is a nice haul. Lamelo, despite being a literal idiot, is one hell of a ball player, and the biggest thing, he's still so young. You automatically have another face to your franchise, again, it's an idiots face, but Kerr could reign him in I feel like. You also get Bridges as the Draymond replacement, or a flipable asset if you so please. The biggest piece for me, comes with the Pistons, in getting Ron Holland. He's exactly the kind of defensive piece you want paired next to Lamelo for the future. You also get some decent value picks in this. It may not be the sexy 6 first round picks for Steph, but trading a massive amount of picks is dead, and I think you get a nice haul back.
Next up we'll talk about the Pistons. Let's say they flame out in the playoffs, and realize that need 1. A veteran leader with championship pedigree, 2. A secondary playmaker to lighten the load for Cade, 3. To get rid of Caris Lavert lol. This trade gets all of those points done, and all it costs, is your flyer of a young guy Holland, which hurts, but isn't much in the grand scheme. I think Draymond would fit like a glove on this Pistons team, and I don't think Holland's offense is ready to provide real assistance to this Pistons team in the playoffs.
Lastly, the Mavs. We suck, let's lean into it. This trade is admitting defeat, and fully starting the rebuild. With resetting the timeline, you now have a core group of guys 25 and under in Coby White, Max Christie, Cooper Flagg, Tidjane Salaun, Derrick Lively, and a flyer in Liam Mcneeley. Not to mention your lottery pick in this coming draft, and your pick next year...that sadly in this world, would probably be a pretty high pick. Anyways, this give a ton of young talent and optionality for the Mavs.
Let me know who says no, I kind of love it for everyone, but let me know.
