Mavs: Simons, Fontecchio ($35 million in expiring between the two), Walsh
Celtics: Gafford, Klay, Martin, Larsson
Heat: Hauser, Tillman
Mavs sell of valuable pieces to readjust their cap sheet for next year. They ship off Gafford, and Klay to get back in Simons, Hauser, and Walsh. Their prize in this trade comes with attaching Caleb Martin and moving off that contract, while also acquiring a young flyer in Walsh. They send Hauser to the Heat for another expiring.
The Celtics are getting an equal player of Sam Hauser's caliber in Klay, on a more expensive less years deal. They do this to increase long term flexible, while maximizing their win now window with getting Gafford, and while Martin has been horrible as of late, they could use another bench vet. Even Pelle Larsson may look like a contract filler in this trade, but could easily prove useful to the Celtics depth.
The Heat's side of this is very simple. Sam H is way better than Fontecchio, and all it costs is Larsson. Done deal.
I think all sides win this...Mavs fans will be sad not getting a pick back for Gafford, but I think moving off of Martin's contract is more beneficial to the Mavs than getting a low 20's pick from the Celtics.
Let me know who says no!
