The Mavs here would acquire a new starter in Caruso who is a perfect fit next to Luka and Kyrie. This would also bolster the bench as you would bring in a high level shooting 4/5 in Collins plus move DJJ to the bench making it very potent defensively. In this scenario DJJ would sign a 1 year deal with a player option added on the same way the Bucks signed Portis, which would allow Dallas to gain his early bird rights and offer a much bigger contract in the 2025 offseason.
