Who and Why.

Miami is trying to strengthen its team with Morant, whose time with the Grizzlies is over, Spo can breathe new energy into the point guard and improve the team. They'll only pay for this with Rozier's dead contract, Wiggins, and will have to give up Ware, who doesn't quite fit the system but incredibly talented. Miami also gets a mentor and shooter in KCP and a little draft assets.

Memphis makes a bold move by trading away the best player in franchise history, admitting their time with each other is over. By giving up Morant, key rotation pieces like Aldama, Landale, and Jerome, and draft assets, the Grizzlies will gain Garland, who is literally suffering from being next to Mitchell in Cleveland, some terrible contracts, and the very talented Ware with Newell like young bonus.

By not giving up the team's owner-favorite Young, Atlanta is trying to sneak into the playoff window, taking a risk and getting the contact of Anthony Davis, in exchange for sending a significant part of the rotation (Okongwu is finally free).

Porzingis in da house. Dallas doesn't have any draft picks of their own for the next few years, so in a Davis trade, they would benefit from getting a support cast for Kyrie and Flagg (as well as potential talent from the next draft), plugging holes in the rotation to make the rebuild go smoothly. Also Mavs gets a probably good unprotected 1st round pick by Memphis.

After a terrible start, Cleveland is looking to change things up and will trade Garland. Finally, Mobley will move to center, Aldama will help with spacing and scoring, and Klay will become a mentor to the Cavaliers' young guards and will also help with shooting. Draft picks included.

I'd love to read your thoughts in the comments.
