Pistons: Naji Marshall

Mavs: Ronald Holland II & Pistons 2026 First Round Pick

Very simple trade here, and I'm going to be honest, I would say no if I'm the Mavericks. The reason I say that, and still propose this trade, is I genuinely just haven't watched that much of Ron Holland, and what I have seen, I really haven't been impressed at all. The reason I still propose this, though, is people who I listen to often about NBA speak really highly of Holland, and his upside, and he fits the Cooper timeline much better than Naji does. You also get a very late first in this stacked draft to maybe snag a late steal if you're the Mavs. The Pistons, on the other hand, have found themselves in a situation where they have a REAL chance to win the East and make the Finals. With the Pistons being a young core, and relying greatly on chemistry, I doubt they make a big move because they would be scared how it would effect the locker-room atmosphere. This move is just small enough to keep the vibes high, but Naji would slot into this team perfectly. His tenacious defense fits the mindset, while he can also provide playmaking and self creation to lighten the load for Cade. Whether he finds himself in the starting rotation, or being a punch off the bench, I think Naji could really take the Pistons over the top, and love the idea of that pairing.
