The Mavs need size and depth, so here they trade a player who is completely out of the rotation in Bertans for two guys who would play key roles next season. Olynyk could provide some size, shooting, and rebounding at the 4/5 spots, while JTA can be a solid bench wing to bring some defense to the table. For the Jazz, they can easily cut Bertans after this season for only a 5 mil cap hit next year, and they add another future draft pick to their already huge stash of assets, setting them up even better for a potential star acquisition down the line.
