This trade idea was inspired by the current situation the Mavericks face, they have a good not great team that will be competitive but isn't capable of winning against the title contenders. The Mavs just are one level below the true title contenders. However, they cannot begin moving first round picks just for high level role players. Those players would not be enough to catapult them into the title contender tier, only a true co star for Luka will put them amongst the top 2-5 teams in the league. With that all in mind I scoured the NBA looking for a deal that would not likely cost a frp but would still involve players who could improve the Mavs roster and this is what I have come up with. This is the skeleton of the deal and certainly I could see negotiation around this point in terms of additional players and maybe a 2nd round pick.

Why Charlotte does this: Simply put this opens up their books immediately, They'd save about 20 million next season and get off Rozier's money a year early. Plus these players are good enough to raise the Hornets floor enough that it will hurt them in the Wemby sweepstakes. The Hornets want high draft picks and minutes to develop young talent.

Why the Mavs do this: For Dallas you do this because it helps fill existing gaps in the lineup at a low cost. Rozier can become the 3rd ball handler off the bench and both players can help take some load off in the scoring and ball handling department. I'd start with both off the bench to shore up the bench scoring due to this move necessitating moving Christian Wood to the starting lineup (it's time anyways) and if Reggie Bullock's shooting doesn't come around then you can move Hayward into the starting lineup.
