WOULD TRAVIS HUNTER BE A GOOD NBA PLAYER?

For those of you who aren’t familiar with football, Travis Hunter is the #1 overall prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. He is the consensus No. 1 pick, no matter the team. One of the reasons why is because he excels at playing both wide receiver and cornerback. This requires great athleticism and health.

This got me wondering, if he were to switch to basketball and declare for the 2025 NBA Draft, would he be able to sustain a good career?

IS HE ATHLETIC ENOUGH? His “pure athleticism” wouldn’t be an issue in the NBA. He’s a great athlete with great speed, elusiveness, vertical, etc. Another thing to look at is his size. He’s only 6-foot-1, which is not great for the NBA level, and 185 pounds.

HAVE WE EVER SEEN HIM PLAY BBALL? Actually, yes, we have. Clips of him were posted of him absolutely dominating a University of Colorado intramural basketball game. But of course, this is just an intramural league, and his competition wasn’t anything special. But his athleticism was showed on display, as he had some crazy dunks. But crazy dunks won’t get him to the NBA.

CAN HE EVEN SURVIVE THE 82 GAMES? Yes, no question. If he’s able to play both offense and defense at the college level, and he plans to do so at the NFL level, then I think he can for sure play an NBA season. He can keep up with other NBA players in terms of health/stamina.

My Verdict: YES
