This is actually legal as two separate trades: 1) Martin for Strus (using our salary cap space) 2) The other 8 players. If I was a Cavs fan, I'd be so sick of hearing about Garland's toe. This trade makes the Cavs better this year—bc the 5 incoming players actually pla—and reduces their league-leading payroll for years to come, allowing roster flexibility in trades and access to the Mid Level Exception.
