Playing games is a waste of time

Ever heard that one? My parents told me that all the time growing up. Even now, when I play sometimes, I still get those comments like, “you could be doing something useful.” And I don’t get it, what’s the issue with games? I’m not gambling or doing anything risky. Why is lying on the couch watching TV after work considered relaxing, but playing games is irresponsible and dumb?
