Nuggets trade Cameron Johnson to trade up in draft and get Marcus Smart

FAILED

  • Resign usual suspects

  • Resign Peyton Watson

  • Trade Cam for rotation piece in Marcus Smart and Lakers 1st in this draft (#25)

  • Trade Strawther, Nuggets 2026 1st (#26) and Lakers (#25), and Zeke Nnaji to Heat for #13 (per rumors they're looking to trade up)

  • Nuggets draft Yaxel Lendeborg, Morez Johnson, or similar at #13

  • Heat perspective: trading 1 earlier 1st for 2 later firsts and 2 edge of rotation players, all of which could help in potential trade for Giannis.

  • Lakers perspective: Add long term, solid and cheap starter in Cam Johnson for Marcus Smart and late first round pick.

  • Trade says it fails but my calcs say it works. Vet mins only count for 2.5 mil or whatever baseline is, waive and stretch big Val which it won't let me do. After these moves Nuggets will be under 1st apron.
