Nuggets ideal offseason v2

FAILED

Step one: Three team trade with the Pistons and Grizzles where the nuggets send out Cam Johnson, Julian Strawther, Zeke Nnaji and the 26th pick in this years draft in exchange for Ron Holland, Ty Jerome, Paul Reed, OMAX, the 32nd pick in this year's draft, and two future second round picks.

Explanation: This trade solves a variety of issues for the nuggets. The first is it clears nearly ten million in cap space, that, when combined with waiving Jonas Valanciunas, would give the nuggets about 19 million in new cap space, which they can use for the most important step in the offseason, which is resigning rising star Peyton Watson. Second, the depth pieces they aquire as a result of this trade could be invaluable. Ty Jerome gives the nuggets the best backup point guard they have had in this era, Paul Reed gives them a jack of all trades back up big who is more equiped for the playoffs than Jonas, and Ron Holland and OMAX are both young athletic forwards who can help reduce the load on AG. And third, it replenishes some draft capital by turning their late first round pick into three second rounders.

Step 2: Draft Tounde Yessofu with the 32nd pick in the draft The Nuggets need more youth in the pipeline, and Yessofu has a very high celing thanks to his physical tools and motor. If he is not avalible with the 32nd pick then other options could include Matt Able, Amari Allen, or Billy Richmond

Step 3: Resign Peyton Watson and Spencer Jones This is a must for the Nuggets. When Jokic was out this year, Watson was the primary reason the Nuggets stayed afloat. I honestly think that he has a Kawhi Lennord type celling. Giving him a big contract to lock him down is a must for the nuggets to stay competitive. As for Spencer Jones, he was pretty much the only bright spot in the playoffs for the nuggets this year, and his 3 and D skillset is invaluable. Because he is a restricted free agent, I'm hoping that the nuggets will be able to resign him for cheap.

Step 4: Resign THJ and Bruce Brown Just two solid vets who can provide extra depth. I'm pretty confident the nuggets can easily sign Bruce, but Tim could get a big offer from another team to sign with them. Although I am hoping that Tim's disappering act in the playoffs disuaded teams from offering him a big contract. Potential alternatives to him could include Bogdan Bogdonivic, Kevin Hueter, Landry Shamet, or Jordan Clarkson

Next year's rotation: PG: Jamal Murray, Ty Jerome, Jalen Pickett SG: Christian Braun, THJ, Bruce Brown SF: Peyton Watson, Spencer Jones, Tounde Yessofu PF: AG, Ron Holland, OMAX C: Nikola Jokic, Paul Reed, Darron Holmes (who I hope overtakes Reed by the end of the season)

Record: 61-21

Playoffs: Beat Houston in 5 in the first round Beat OKC in 7 in the second round Beat Spurs in 6 in the conference finals Beat the Pacers in 6 in the Finals
