Nuggets go all in on youth

Separate transactions. All trades pass in the offseason and the nuggets also shed 11mil in salary with these moves.

First, Denver trades Aaron Gordon to Atlanta for Kuminga and two second round picks.

Second, Denver sends DaRon Holmes and those two second round picks to Chicago for Jalen Smith. Denver possibly throws in a third second rounder here.

Then Denver, Charlotte and Washington engage in a 3 team trade. With Denver sending Cam Johnson to the hornets and a FRP to Washington. The hornets send Josh Green and a first to Washington. The wizards clear roster space for their upcoming draft picks by sending Hardy, Whitmore and Champagnie to Denver.

The nuggets need youth if they’re going to keep up with the young teams in the west, although I’m not sure how much better Denver would get here. But they’d be in a much better position when it comes to speed, athleticism and energy.
