In order to keep Watson, Denver must trade either cam Johnson or Christian Braun next offseason. Realistically I don’t see anyone wanting CB for 25 million a year so he will be untenable. Cam Johnson being traded for expiring contracts is the only way Denver can retain Watson next summer. And Peyton can easily replace Cam in the starting lineup moving forward. This trade gets them off both Cam and Zeke, while getting a backup ball handler which is desperately needed for this years team. Sexton could be great for the nuggets off the bench.
