Denver need to shed salary and get younger. While they trade a FRP in this deal, they get back a WAY better fit on the team in O.G. Anunoby. He will compliment Murray and Jokic better than MPJ and is only one year older, on a better deal. In the deal, they also get Chris Boucher, who would play as the backup center. Okoro was traded for Caldwell-Pope to shed a bit of salary and get a good young wing.
Denver also re-sign Bruce Brown, Reggie Jackson and Jeff Green. The most impactful players on the championship core need to stay. Additionally, they sign Alex Len, to replace DeAndre Jordan as a solid veteran. Christian Braun would get more minutes, playing as the backup guard to Bruce Brown who will start.
