Ms. Smith: Hey guys, I will be your home room teacher this year. My name is Mrs Smith and this is my first year teaching at Redville High.

Students: Hi Mrs. Smith

MSS: Since it’s the first day of school and I’m fresh out of college, I think we should walk the track

RO: That sounds nice

MSS: what’s your name fella

RO: I’m Ray Oliver

MSS: Ok Ray. Plz don’t blurt out in class alright.

RO: Yes ma’am

MSS: ok. Let’s all walk the track

On the track:

RO: Man I’m so lucky I have most of my classes with you

RC: I know! Teddy only has woodworking with us though

RO: I feel bad for him

RC: Same. Mrs Smith is such a nice teacher.

RO: real. and she’s fresh out of college

RC: she’s not gonna let us manipulate her though,

RO: you can say that again

RC: you tryna go to McD’s with me, Teddy, and Andy later?

RO: Who’s Andy?

RC: he’s this kid on my soccer team but he’s pretty chill.

RO: I would but my dad said he’d take me to Dick’s to get some new cleats

RC: ok man that’s chill

After practice on Thursday:

Coach Smith: ok guys, you played really good today. Darnell will be starting at Qb tomorrow against Greenwood Prep. Is that clear

Team: yes sir.

CS: ok guys go relax and do things that are not bad.

Darnell Brown: yes coach

Friday at lunch:

Teddy: Did you hear what happened?

RC: what happened

TK: Darnell got suspended for 3 days

RO: WHAT. WHY?

TK: He was making out with girls in the hall and Mrs Smith. saw him

RC: a girl or girls

TK: 3 girls

RO: at once?

TK: no but they were back to back to back

RO: who were they?

TK: Lily, Daniele, and Natalie.

RO: they are ugly why would he kiss them

RC: I dunno but that means your starting today Ray.

RO: OH WAIT I DIDNT REALIZE THAT

TK: talk quieter. Maybe you could impress Georgia

RO: Ok that’s wild. Maybe you should impress Sarah, the backup captain.

TK: bud focus on getting yourself a date before me, ok.

RO: ok. I’m surprised I’m starting though

TK: just play the way you know how to play

In the tunnel before the game:

Coach Smith: hey son. Darnell got suspended so you’re starting today

RO: yes coach

CS: show everyone what you’re capable of

RO: yes coach

CS: ok bud. It’s our first home game so let’s make a statement
