Pacers target DFS and accept Simmons contract to get him. They give up a 1st as well as Hield, Duarte, and Jalen Smith. DFS gives them a solid 4 with 2 way ability to give the Pacers a roster ready to compete for the playoffs immediately. If Simmons recovers and gets back to 80% of who he was he could start alongside DFS and give the Pacers a great defensive front court.

Nets get contract flexibility, room from the luxury, and some additional youth without getting much worse. The Nets will definitely be looking to clear some cap to be able to resign Cam Johnson. Dumping Simmons contract isn't going to be easy but is possible if they package him with another piece.
