The objective is to try and stay at the top of the conference after the major trades in the east.
Trade 1:
Nets recive: Jarace Walker, 2032 SRP via IND
Pacers recive no assets
Trade 2
Pelicans recive: Obi Toppin, 2031 FRP via IND (top 5 protected), 2033 FRP via IND
Pacers recive: Herbert Jones
Roster Moves:
Sign Malik Beasley on a 2 year minimum contract with a Team Option on the second year
Sign Kelly Olynyk on a 2 year, 15 M contract
Sign Braden Smith on a Two-Way contract
Explanation: Trade 1: We relive a big amount of money trading Jarace, and Nets should take him because he's got potential, plus they get a second.
Trade 1: We get a great defendor (one of the best in the league) who can also be important in offense in Herb. Pels get a pretty fair value in exchange with Obi and 2 firsts that could be valuablein the future.
Signing 1: Beasley is one of the best shooters in the league, and because of everything that's going on he's cheaper than ever. I know its a risky bet (sry for the bad joke), but I guess we belive in second chances.
Signing 2: Even though we have Zubac, we need a backup center who fits the team better. I think Zubac os great, but a guy who has attempted 12 threes in 10 seasons isn't going to love playing 100 possessions per game. Kelly Olynyk is faster and he can hit threes, so he's a much better fit who could also start in case Ivica gets injured.
Signing 3: I really think Braden Smith deserves a chance, since he's the NCAA's leader in assists all-time.
Lineup:
Hali/Nembhard/Nesmith/Pascal/Ivica
T.J./Beasley/Herb/Oubre/Olynyk
Braden Smith (TW)/Sheppard/Furphy/Micah Potter/ Jay Huff
Objectives: Hali has an All-star season and reaches an All-NBA team
Beasley has a 38% in threes or more
Herb Jones reaches an All-Defensive team
Finish in the top 6 and avoid the play-in
Reach Conference Semifinals
