Obi and Sheppard are two very solid player's I don't wanna give up.. Obi is and last year was the best 6th man off the bench. He keeps getting better ever year and I'm sure Sheppard with more minutes and a role. Will only continue to grow even more. Especially on a team with a passer like Giddey and a PG shooter/passer like White. Sheppard's length, defense and spot up shooting is perfect for the Bulls. As Obi's movement shooting, transition play at 75+% finishing. Along with his extremely efficient 3pt shot, the energy he injects into the team with his dunks.. The heart, vibes and how funny he is.. I will miss Obi terribly.. The only reason I made this trade.. Was because I didn't do what I wanted to do and trade McConnell.. lol I'd miss him too, but Obi.. man.. that blows... But I if there's anything I know about this Pacers team. We will be lucky if this is the only player moved to make up cap space for Turner.. I'll no longer be a fan if anyone else leaves.. The only silver lining here. Is if we can get this trade with the Bulls.. Or Nets, OKC, Hawks, Spurs.. anyone really. I just liked the Bulls. Because I think it's good for both team's.. and we need an earlier pick in this draft. So we can get a look at some guy's that would have been gone otherwise. Like-
Rasheer Fleming, Danny Wolf, Walter Clayton Jr., Cedric Coward, Nique Clifford, Donnie Freeman, Hunter Sallis, Milos Uzan, Jase Richardson, Adou Thiero, Bogoljub Markovic, Will Riley, Ian Jackson, Koby Brea, Joson Sanon, Ryan Kalkbrenner, Alex Condon, Maxime Raynaud, KJ Lewis, Miles Byrd, Javon Small, Tomislav Ivisic, Dink Pate, Kanon Catchings, Jamir Watkins, Joan Beringer.. etc I know I forgot some very important guy's. I remember more of the later picks because where ours was at 23 and 45.. But there's maybe a couple handful of guy's I'd like to have. Maybe one handful before our original 23 anyways. If my favorites are picked. Which by recent mocks.. Fleming, Wolf, possibly Cedric, Nique, Jase could all be.. and had we not lost so many good player's going back to college. I had a much bigger list of guy's I liked.. But even though I lost a handful of those and can't remember some other's. You get the hint.. We need to secure a guy that can help us now. Especially someone who's good enough to help take the scoring load off our guy's. Someone who can do a little of everything. Bench, or even in the starting lineup if we need them to be. That kind of player and our 2nd pick. We need to go after the best available obviously.. and only I can determine that by the time of the draft.. I wish Magoon Gwath was in this one. I liked his potential and Defense. If we don't get Wolf. I would hope we would at least get one of those bigs named. Then again if we have Jalen Smith. Maybe Idc and we go for the best player.
I can't even remember off the top of my head who most have mocked going between 12-23.. Most of who I like are being taken later anyways. All the more the reason why I wish we'd get a 2nd late 1st to early 2nd.. Having Jalen Smith back would be perfect for our team. Even if he is a bit of a PF/C right now. He's becoming more comfortable in that C role and he's a solid defender and rebounder. Had a ton of potential I thought.. I think he's sorta lost himself in CHI. We need him and he needs us again.
Oh and I did try to keep Thomas Bryant you guy's. Except it said he deserved at least 5,347,000 year or some bs.. So Tony had a TO. Which was only a little over 2 million. Which was probably the plan for next season. They had to know that was gonna be a huge need for them once they couldn't afford Bryant. You want to have an experienced 3rd string C. Even if you do draft a C. Which I hope we do and that it's an actual 7'0+ guy with multiple skills/fundamentals and rebounding. Not some 6'6 C who can "hustle" not really shoot, but maybe he can Rebound at C for us... Dude.. no, small ball is one thing. Being fast, smaller and having an actual 7'0 who can move fluidly and within the Offense. With other guy's like a Smith who's a big 6'10ish to help fill that role when needed.. But it's becoming a bigs league again and we're gonna need to eventually match a 7'0+ guy with other teams player's. This draft has guy's well over 7'0..
I just pray they don't blow this.. Fleming, Wolf, Walter Clayton Jr. would be fantastic. Maybe Adou Thiero, Cedric Coward or Nique Clifford. If I'm being honest I wish we'd taken Jaylen Wells over Furphy like I wanted from last draft.. I'd almost look to trade him.. Bogoljub Markovic is a great pick for a PF too.. Already way more skilled than Furphy. I love Milos Uzan. By what little I saw.. Coby Love was decent. Miles Byrd can hit his shots consistently and he was one of my early favorites. I can't wait for this draft.. Alex Condon is a smaller PF/C too that's a scrappy dude. Then there's a guy who's African, just a bigger C with 75% around the basket and boards.. Nice he's on my big board on Fanspo. Speaking of, Baba Miller is nice and Noa Essengue. I like Baba at 6'11. Reminds me a bit of Bogoljub. But with less handle I think lol idk.. surprisingly, white foreign boy can handle that rock on a drive to the hoop. If Dink Pate can shoot 3's like he did in his last 6 games. He could have been a 1st prospect. But he's 19 and someone I'd definitely take a chance on. Because he's a tough shot maker. Not afraid of any moment and super athletic. With a nice looking stroke. So it's not broken.. 6'8 with a handle and speed too.. smh. Similar to Kanon Catchings.
