With reports that the pacers and clippers are closing in on a Zubac deal I tried to guess what the trade would entail. An expiring mathurin, a backup center in Jackson, and 2 FRPs and 2 SRPs. Zu has been the defensive anchor for the clippers the last several years and I cannot overstate the impact has has had on this team, especially last year. With the pacers needing a good center I think Zu is the best candidate for them. Reports have stated that Zu is worth “multiple first round picks” and as much as I’d like to think the pacers would give us their 26 pick there is no way they should do that. These FRPs line up with the clippers gaining control of their own picks back (2030) and helps them gain some future draft capital for our future rebuild and a young asset in mathurin. I would love for us to also move off of Lopez as he probably has SRP trade value right now but that’s just me.
