Pelicans get a Jak at a decent contract for a few years giving them solid defense in the paint. Plus Dennis as a additional ball handler. Plus a first round pick. Pelicans already have a few 2024 FRPs. Perhaps a future FRP is sent instead of the one included.

Raptors are reunited with Jonas on an expiring contract. He will be great to have going forward along with hopefully a freshly drafted Center. Herb Jones is the perfect accompaniment to Scottie in the starting lineup for the Raptors.

I know Pelicans love Jones a lot. He has value. But from a player perspective he will always be limited by positional over-lap with the Pelicans. Logjam at the 3-4. He will not get the minutes and opportunity he deserves. Plus the Pelicans are going to have some tough money decisions to make in the near future.

Jones will continue to be a great defender and with the young Raptors, he can get a chance to be a reliable starter. He may never quite reach the legend of OG, but with the right opportunity he can get pretty close.
