This could be the type of massive move that catapults Detroit to contender status for the next 5+ years. They need to add a sharp shooter in between Cade, Ausar, and Duren and MPJ perfectly fits the bill. Trey Murphy is on one of the best value contracts and is a solid defender while being able to knock down 3s at a high clip. Detroit could also bring back Beasley on a very very cheap deal or look to use their TPE for someone else. I don’t see Ivey as a fit with core, I never really have but especially with how they’ve played since he came back - an even net rating and their defense completely falling off. I also don’t see Holland as a fit unless he can develop a jumper as Ausar is a much more impactful player and Duren is now the franchise Center. You can’t have 3 guys that can’t shoot, especially while Cade is struggling from deep. Trey Murphy and MPJ make this team more versatile, long, switchable, and add what they need most - shooting!
