QUICK SYNOPSIS
WHY OKC
Why would OKC adjust its core like this after winning a championship? Well, the San Antonio Spurs are why. Wemby is a freak of nature and nearly unstoppable. However, while Wemby may be the one who takes the crown from Lebron as the best player in the league, Giannis just might be the "Kevin Durant" that the Thunder needs in order to continue their path as a certified dynasty. Let's be real, if you have to let Chet and Hartstein go with two first-round picks for a SGA/Giannis/JDub trio, YOU DO IT!! However, in this scenario, they also obtain a replacement big man that fits very well with Giannis, who is desperate to feel like he's playing for something, and he has been vocal about it this year. Vucevic is a 3-point shooting big man who can stretch the floor tremendously for SGA/Giannis/JDub to get their work in. The more dangerous part? The Thunder still have picks to make ANOTHER move if they feel the need to modify some things. Giannis would be their exact answer to the Wemby crisis. So far, Giannis is averaging 30 & 15 vs. Wemby.
Starting lineup? SGA/JDub/Dort/Giannis/Vucevic
WHY DETROIT PISTONS
Tobias Harris is expiring. He is a highly valued veteran, but if you can get your power forward of the future, you don't pass it up. You send Tobias back to somewhere where he is familiar. In fact, in a full-circle kind of way, it's the team that drafted him. Adding Okoro, who is a player that is very familiar with Coach Bickerstaff and fits the culture of the Pistons, is a plus as well. Chet would immediately be one of the best big men in the East, and his youth fits the core of the team. Losing two expiring vets, a young player who isn't really getting much of a chance to run, 2 1st round picks that will likely be late-rounders, and some 2nd rounders is worth the move.
Starting lineup? Cunningham/Ivey/Ausar/Holmgreen/Duren
WHY MILWAUKEE BUCKS
If Giannis wants out, I am sure he will only want to go somewhere where he can win more championships. He is the greatest Milwaukee Buck of all time, so I am sure that the organization will reward him with a nice move like OKC. Especially since they are a team in a different conference. The West is a wild place, and I think it will be shaken up before we know it, with current Western Stars moving East at some point (like Ja Morant, AD, and maybe even Lebron), but Giannis would have nothing to be afraid of co-starring with SGA. Getting 4 1st round picks unprotected, players that can keep you competitive and/or help you line up future moves, and also set up potential cap relief, is the route to go. Especially since you are still paying Damian Lillard.
WHY BULLS
Vucevic is a pretty good player, but he's aging. The Bulls are building for the future. Isaiah Harstein is only 27 years old compared to Vucevic's 35. Also, with Vuc expiring, he very likely will not resign with the Bulls in the first place. He has done interviews and had moments where he seems extremely displeased with the culture overall in Chicago. They would be trading for a champion who's a defensive anchor. Caris LeVert brings more of a veteran scoring presence. Marcus Sasser is a bench piece that could bring some really good scoring to the team as well. Overall, their bench can have a better chance at putting points up after making this trade.
