Detroit has a logjam of guards and with how Jenkins and Sasser have been playing, they could afford to move LeVert and Ivey to pick up a higher level wing/forward like Trey Murphy. They lose two 1sts and a swap but they get a major upgrade and a clear #2 option. Trey will also benefit from having a solid defense around him so he can do his off ball swipes and get a ton of deflections without having to take the tough matchups. Detroit also lands Derrick Jomes Jr as their backup PF by using two 2nds and their TPE to fit him in. They essentially cut Bobi Klintman to then resign Jenkins. This move not only raises their ceiling by upgrading their starting lineup but (maybe more importantly) this significantly raises their floor by adding another high level wing defender in Jones and becoming bigger, longer, and more versatile.
Pelicans are able to pick up two 1sts, a swap, and expiring contracts for Trey Murphy and they jump all over it. The Clippers shed salary for next year and pick up assets to start their tank.
