Detroit desperately needs a #2 option. Enter Devin Booker. He would be the perfect complement to Cade as the off ball guard who can take over the offense when Cade rests. Ausar slides to the 3 while Stew enters the starting lineup. Adding Maluach to develop for the next 2 years under Stew and Paul Reed as the #3 big would be huge. It does cost them Duren, Holland, the expiring LeVert contract, and a pick swap to the 2nd round in this draft but it’s for a top 20 player Devin Booker and a really promising young stretch big who could turn into a defensive prowess. The only downside here is Booker’s massive contract. I view it as nearly a wash because of the pay day Duren is likely to receive.
Cade, Booker, Ausar, Tobias, Stewart
Jenkins, Robinson, Green, Reed, Maluach…
The Suns get younger and finally lean into a slight rebuild. They bring in Duren as their center of the future while also adding a high potential wing in Ron Holland. Phoenix moves up in the draft for their first round pick of a stacked draft and they can start their journey back to relevancy. They could trade Brooks and their key role players for future assets too to blow it up even more.
