Nets The Nets are in a full on rebuild. With this trade they are able to get off of Cam Johnson’s contract creating more cap space for next year while moving up to the #10 pick in this draft. The nets have so many young guys that 4 1st round picks this year is infeasible, this trade gets them to just 3 while adding an early 2nd for a 2-way contract. The Nets would end up with picks 8, 10, and 19 to build to their new core and create a new identity while picks 36 and 37 would be young two-way guys to develop for the future. Brooklyn also gets its swap back from Houston for 2027.
Rockets Houston adds the perfect 3&D forward to their already established young core. Cam Johnson comes relatively cheap and gives Houston more options for the future. The Rockets move back from 10 to 26 to get a 1st round pick on a cheaper contract while also picking up a 2026 1st in exchange for Jabari Smith and a 2026 2nd. Houston has said they’re open to trading back in this draft and doing so nets them Cam Johnson. They also don’t have a 1st in 2026 and moving Jabari Smith and a 2nd gets them that asset.
Pistons Detroit makes a simple swap of Fontecchio and a 2026 1st for Jabari Smith, a 2026 2nd, and moving up 10 spots in this draft to select Maxime Raynaud as the 3rd Center.
