From this the Pistons have a very rangy team that can play a fast paced game on both ends of the floor whenever they deem it necessary. Duren seems to want out. They send him west. In return, Adams is a very well respected enforcer. Jabari Smith Jr. is the real prize here. He’s signed for 5 years and his 5th year peaks at 27.5M! Compared to the 40M+ that Duren wants and considering that they managed to extend Ausar for 31M per that’s a very well put roster full of potential. This also can push Collins to being a 6th man off of the bench. It keeps their cap flexibility totally alive. With them having picks and cap flexibility the Pistons could find themselves fully replacing Duren by the trade deadline as they’d have a slew of tradeable assets. There’s not telling what route they’d go from here!
The Rockets can play some really good basketball that fits what KD loves to do. KD wants to get up and down the court and score. Fox, Amen, Eason, Durant, Sengun can do that for sure! It would be a fun watch and they’d have their wing of the future in tact Fox is a high value guard but his reputation took a hit for his NBA Finals struggles last year. Going from the often injured Fred VanVleet to DeAaron Fox is a huge upgrade for the Rockets. Just don’t look for their starting lineup to be shooting lights out on any given night.
The Spurs keep their ELITE youth in tact while adding a big that will absolutely compliment the rising face of the league and (likely) future Hall of Famer Victor Wembanyama. It also seems apparent that Dylan Harper is already ready to take the reins from DeAaron Fox. It’s best to get what you can out of him while he’s still on a rookie deal! Things could get extremely scary with a combination of Harper, Castle, Vassel, Wembanyama, Duren. Making this type of move would definitely put some fear in the reigning Western Conference Champions, OKC Thunder. Not to mention they add an elite shooter coming off of the bench in Duncan Robinson and a veteran point guard in Fred VanVleet, both on expiring deals might I add.
