Milwaukee caves and trades Giannis to Houston. They bring back two solid prospects in Reed Sheppard and Ron Holland. They also land three 1sts, three swaps (2033 not included), and the expiring FVV contract. This gives them ample prospects to build around while also creating cap space for them for the future.
Houston lands Giannis and makes their push for the NBA finals. This move allows them to compete with the likes of the Spurs and Thunder in the West.
Detroit lands its PF of the future. Jabari Smith is a Tobias Harris replacement who is a slightly better shooter, rebounder, and defender. He’s not as solid in the post but with Duren’s growth, that won’t matter as much. Detroit extends Duren and Ausar to long term deals and brings back Tobias, Javonte, and Dannis while getting off Caris’ contract. This opens up the $15.1M NTMLE that they could use on a backup guard/wing like CJ McCollum, Keon Ellis, Isaiah Joe, or Aaron Wiggins. They use their draft pick to bring in another guard/wing and this team is set up extremely well.
