One of the main reasons the Hawks are willing to trade Collins is the salary crunch they face next season when DeAndre Hunters extension kicks in and Dejaunte Murray becomes eligible for his extension. By swapping out Collins for Saddiq Bey who will make less then $5M next season on the final year of his rookie contract and not taking on any other future salary in the trade the Hawks will clear over $20M off next years cap. The 23 year old Bey would take over as the teams starting SF, with Hunter moving up to the PF spot. Veteran C Nerlens Noel, G/F Hami Diallo & PG Cory Joseph would help strengthen/deepen what has been a very week bench unit so far this season.

Potential Hawks depth chart

C: Capella, Okwongu, Noel

PF: Hunter, Bey, Johnson

SF: Bey, Griffin, J Holiday

SG: Murray, Diallo, (Bodgonovic)

PG: Young, Joseph, A Holiday

One of the Pistons biggest weaknesses is lack of size, rebounding and paint protection in the starting unit with Bey and Bojan Bogdonovic at the forward spots. The 6"9, 235lb Collins should help solve that problem and give the team another high flying lob threat to go along with Duren and Bagley. At 25 years of age Collins will fit right in with Cade, Ivey, Duren, Stewart & Hayes as young building blocks for the Pistons. Kaminsky give the Pistons some big man depth and Tyrese Martin give them a devolpmental wing.

Projected Pistons Depth Chart

C: Duren/Bagley/Kaminsky

PF: Collins/Stewart/Knox

SF: Bogdonovic/Livers/Martin

SG: Ivey/Burks/McGruder

PG: Cunningham/Hayes/Burks
