Detroit is reportedly linked to a Desmond Bane-like of trade for someone who isn’t a superstar, hasn’t been in a ton of trade rumors (i.e. Lauri), but would make a big impact. Why not the team that just traded Bane?
JJJ is a major upgrade over Tobias and allows Detroit to consistently run a two big lineup between JJJ, Duren, and Stewart with Paul Reed as the valuable 4th big. JJJ is also only 26 so would be a valuable piece around Detroits core for the next 5 years. Add in Ausar and Holland and this team keeps their “Nasty Dogs” mentality for the foreseeable future.
Grizzlies add two firsts, expiring contracts, and take a chance on seeing if Ivey can be a new cornerstone of the franchise.
