Portland is in the best position of any team to make a run at Giannis. Not only do they have the necessary contracts to match a Giannis offer AND the fact that they have a few of Milwaukee’s own picks, they also have two all stars on extremely team friendly contracts and some guys on rookie contracts that make roster construction even easier to build around Giannis.
They could roll out a rotation of Lillard, Jrue, Deni, Giannis, Clingan, Scoot, Jerami Grant, Murray, Vit, Yang. This would be an instant top 4 team in the West and would put Portland in title conversations for the next 3 years.
Milwaukee gets their picks back for Giannis while adding two really solid young starters in Duren and Sharpe. They also pick up Missi as their backup big and LeVert serves as a veteran presence off the bench. They draft a starting SF with their lottery pick and this team is primed for a quick turnaround.
Milwaukee Rotation: Rollins, Sharpe, Rookie (Nate Ament), Kuzma, Duren, KPJ, AJ Green, LeVert, Portis, Missi
Detroit is able to shift their roster even more around defense while adding substantial shooting. Here they land Trey Murphy as the #2 option, Camara as the Tobias replacement in the starting 5, and Robert Williams to be their backup Center to Stew.
Detroit rotation: Cade, Ausar, Murphy, Camara, Stewart, Jenkins, Robinson, Green, Harris, Williams, Reed
Pels add a young wing who their front office seemingly had high interest in coming out of the draft in Ron Holland and they finally land a stretch big who can play next to Zion and Queen with Myles Turner. They also net a future 1st.
