Detroit expands the trade with Dallas and THJ, and reroutes the three SRPs they received, to Portland for Rob Williams. Who, at still just 26 years old, despite or maybe bc of his injury history, is a perfect, relatively low cost backup for Duren, and an upgrade over Wiseman. They sign Tobias to start at PF, and resign Fontecchio as well. They also still retain $21.5M in cap space to help facilitate other trades for future draft capital. With Cade, Ivey, Ausar, Sasser and #5 pick Ron Holland, they reset while upgrading and look to compete for the playoffs, putting them on a real path moving forward.

Portland sells relatively low on Time Lord, now that they have Clingan, who's gonna need minutes. Ayton will still start and play 30+ minutes per night for now though. Trading Time Lord also saves Portland $12.4M in cap space. And considering his injury history, the three future SRPs are a realistic return for Williams as well.
