This opens up more PT for Paul Reed and for John Collins at the 5. Detroit retains their depth while adding more shooting and more well rounded/versatile defensive team. This also puts Detroit in an amazing cap situation to add another max contract next offseason! Detroit gets to try out a stretch big look for one season before going all in on a guy like Chet Holmgren or Evan Mobley or someone of that archetype.
