Jazz

They move off of long term contracts (Lauri) while moving up to pick #2 to take Dylan Harper. It does cost them Keynote George and John Collins but this allows them to land a potential superstar in the draft. The Jazz create over $120M in cap space next season making them very well positioned to make a massive splash. They also could look to trade Kessler, Sexton, and Clarkston for picks and continue the “tank” in 2025-26. With a lottery pick next year, and 3 draft picks in 2027 and a TON of cap space, the Jazz will be positioned very well.

Spurs

The Spurs trade back 3 spots and are still able to take Kon Knueppel at pick 5 and Asa Newell at 14. Dylan Harper doesn’t fit their current roster and the Spurs are able to fill some holes with this trade in gaining a backup PG in Keyonte George and a solid backup stretch big in John Collins while drafting the drafts best shooting prospect in Knueppel. The Spurs build out their depth with the trade and come out as contenders in the West.

Pistons

Detroit trades Ivey rather than deciding on whether to extend him or not. This trade brings Detroit the sharp shooting forward they’ve been needing in Lauri Markkanen who steps in as the #2 option in Detroit. They lose two future firsts but are able to move up in this draft to pick 21 to select Rasheer Fleming as their backup PF. With Malik Beasley entering the starting rotation and Johnny Juzang taking his spot off the bench, Detroit could be an interesting team in the East.
