This is far from perfect, and I’m not sure any team would do it, but as a Pistons fan, I designed this to see if Detroit could cash in on a potential Fox trade.

Detroit does the deal to take on less desirable (though not unplayable) contracts in exchange for draft assets. The reason they may not would be they don’t want to take on that much money for that long or want to buy instead.

San Antonio has the draft capital to go get Fox and accelerate their rebuild with Wemby.

Sacramento gets an expiring contract and a lower cost contract along with a younger player and draft picks for Fox but doesn’t have to take on the less desirable money.
