Outlook

Detroit should keep it simple in the offseason. They had a great run in the regular season & have looked excellent as a young team in the playoffs. These resigning’s make a lot of sense because it gives them the necessary salary to trade for a potential star available at next year’s trade deadline or in the 2026-27 offseason. But if they improve & are say in position for a Top 3-4 seed with Ivey returning I don’t believe opening up the chest for a star player would make sense. Continuing to grow the team organically and allowing the young guys to develop & get better is just about the best thing you can do.
