The Hawks move on from two big money long term salaries to gain future cap flexibility (this trade would clear over $30M off the 2023/24 cap) and strengthen the teams bench depth with this trade. 3rd year man Saddiq Bey would takeover for Collins at PF, where his skill set should make him a great fit with Young/Murray/Capella. Jae Crowder will back up Bey & give ATL a defensive stopper to match up against teams top scorers. Landry Shamet and Hami Diallo would battle it out for the top backup spot at SG. C Nerlens Noel & PF Dario Saric bring vet depth at both big man spots.

Also coming to PHX is Justin Holiday who will help out on the wings until Bogdon is back. Vet PG Cory Joseph will slot in as the 3rd PG and provide insurance should Paul's injury linger. One of the Pistons biggest weaknesses is lack of size, rebounding and paint protection in the starting unit with Bey and Bojan Bogdonovic at the forward spots. The 6"9, 235lb Collins should help solve that problem and give the team another high flying lob threat to go along with Duren and Bagley. At 25 years of age Collins will fit right in with Cade, Ivey, Duren, Stewart & Hayes as young building blocks for the Pistons. Josh Okogie adds some depth at SG/SF, while Tyrese Martin give DET a young wing prospect to develop.
